The Palais Royal in Paris was the 18th-19th century hub for France's finest luxury goods, especially mother-of-pearl pieces, such as this one, vanity/desk sets, and accessories. This piece was likely once used to store an inkwell or a small perfume bottle. It is beautifully handcrafted from mother of pearl and gilded bronze.
Antique, 19th century.
Dimensions: 4 3/4” tall by 3 3/4” wide.
State of Preservation: Missing its original inkwell/perfume bottle it used to home, but otherwise in stunning condition. Very slight loss to the gilding.
Photos are an integral part of the description. Lighting may subtly affect the appearance of colors and finishes on pieces (I usually photograph in direct sunlight). Actual colors may vary depending on your screen and lighting conditions.
